I've been a huge fantasy fan for my whole life. Playing Dungeons & Dragons and reading their Endless Quest series of books as a child opened my imagination to new worlds of wonder. I would sit on the floor with my modules and play out whole campaigns by myself, creating stories of heroes and monsters, triumph and tragedy, before rolling the dice and starting it all over anew.
Quest is the culmination of a lifetime of dreaming. I first began creating the characters, world, and story of Quest way back in the mid 90s, and over the years, I've returned to them again and again, working to one day tell their tale.
In Quest #1, you'll meet a ragtag band of adventurers, thrown together by fate and charged with an impossible quest to save their world -- a quest they know almost nothing about. It's filled with action from page one, and as the story progresses, so too will our heroes, growing in strength and tempered by loss as they try to learn the secrets that drive their mission before time runs out!

Hello, fellow adventurers!
I'm really excited to announce that the first issue of my new ongoing epic fantasy comic series Quest is coming to Kickstarter next month!
Quest tells the story of a ragtag party of adventurers, thrown together by fate, who face an impossible quest with the future of their world at stake!
I'm a huge fan of fantasy in all forms, so this is my love letter to the genre. 🙂The story is heavily influenced by Dungeons & Dragons and video games like Dragon Age and World of Warcraft, as well as classic swords and sorcery comics such as Savage Sword of Conan, Warlord, and Elfquest.
I've been working on this story in one form or another for nearly 30 years, so I'm beyond excited to finally bring it to life with the help of some amazing artists. So here's a look at some of the variant covers and editions for this first issue!
I'm so excited to bring this to life after all these years of dreaming, and it wouldn't be possible without your support, so thank you all very much, and I hope you're excited for the adventure that awaits!! 🤗

This is a special edition of the first issue with a completely blank cover, allowing you to draw your own cover, or have one of your favorite artists draw a cover for you!
I'm also offering sketch cover options where I will draw a cover for you of your choice.
Here's a secret: one of the reasons I really wanted to do this was so I could draw some covers with the old National Comics logo on it. 😁 Both Uncle Sam and Granny Gumshoe appeared in the title National Comics back in the 1940s. But since DC sometimes still uses that name and logo occasionally even today, for legal reasons I wasn't able to do a National Comics variant cover.
However, it's fair game to sketch one on a blank! So I'm excited to get my hands on some of these blanks and do some old school National Comics covers on them -- unofficially, of course!
For those who aren't familiar with blank variants, this will have the same interior as Cthulhu vs. Uncle Sam #1, but the cover will be completely blank white on a special thick paper stock designed to allow artists to draw on it. This means that you can draw your own cover, or have one of your favorite artists draw a new customized cover for you!
Over the last couple of Crimebusters campaigns I've had a few people select the sketch cover reward, which is where I personally hand-draw characters or scenes of your choice on a blank variant of The Crimebusters #1. It's a lot of fun to do, as people come up with some crazy stuff 😂 and people seem to enjoy it, so I thought it was time to do some blanks for Cthulhu vs. Uncle Sam #1 as well so fans of this series can get some blanks and sketches as well!
Since the interior is already done and we're just reprinting it with a new blank cover, turnaround time should be short, and also the goal is really low -- I just need $300 to print and ship the minimum print order.
And I will also be offering sketch covers drawn by me on the new blanks! 🙂
This one will be launching on Monday and I think will run for 2 or 3 weeks only. So if this sounds like something fun, consider checking it out here!

I'm excited to let you know that I have finished packing up everyone's rewards, and those that have not already been mailed out will be shipped tomorrow!*
I really appreciate everyone's support with this project, and I hope you all enjoy the story!
I also wanted to announce that sometime in the spring, I'll be doing a small Kickstarter to raise the money to print an artist's blank edition of Cthulhu vs. Uncle Sam #1! I've had a couple people order sketch covers from me recently over on my Crimebusters campaigns, and it occurred to me that some of you might like to have blank variants of Cthulhu vs. Uncle Sam that you can have either me (or your favorite artist other than me 😄) draw a sketch on. Once I have the campaign page up and ready I'll share more information with you!
