Fulfillment update!
about 3 years ago – Fri, Feb 17, 2023 at 04:49:33 PM

Hello, fellow adventurers!

I'm excited to announce that the first big batch of comics is going out in the mail! Take a look:

Yes, tomorrow morning I'll be dropping 46 packages in the mail! That's more than half the physical orders for Cthulhu vs. Uncle Sam #2, so there's a decent chance that your comics will be arriving soon!

I'm still plugging away at getting the rest mailed out as well. I'm not sure if they will all be out before the end of February, but that's my goal, to get them all out earlier than th eoriginal March fulfillment window! 🙂

I also wanted to let you know that there's just one week left in the campaign for The Crimebusters #1-5. The exciting news is that we are now fully funded and close to unlocking our first stretch goal, so it's the perfect time to jump in, as you're guaranteed to get the comic now, and hopefully much more with it! 😁

As I mentioned before, this is a perfect jumping on point, with new artist Mac Radwanski helping me set the table for the epic that is starting to play out. We're really excited for people to read it -- in fact, as soon as we hit our funding goal for this issue, Mac started work on issue #6, which includes Granny Gumshoe in a story called "Whatever Happened to Uncle Sam" is a tale that takes place a decade after the events of Cthulhu vs. Uncle Sam

Here's Mac's line art for the cover of issue #6 (which will be colored soon) -- whatever has happened to Uncle Sam since the end of the war, it's not looking good!!

Granny Gumshoe also has a cameo in issue #5, so if you want to get in on the ground floor, you can check out The Crimebusters #1-5 here. 🤗

Thank you all again so much for your support, I really appreciate it very much, and I'm really excited to be mailing out your copies of Cthulhu vs. Uncle Sam! I can't wait for you to read the story Jay and I put together for you, and I'm really grateful that you have given us this opportunity.

Thank you!

BIG NEWS!!
about 3 years ago – Tue, Jan 31, 2023 at 02:01:55 PM

Hello, fellow cultists!

I've got TWO bits of BIG NEWS for you today, and I'm going to explode if I don't share them with you, so here they are!

First, my new comic The Crimebusters #5 is now live on Kickstarter! This is one I think a lot of you might enjoy, so I'm really excited to share more about it with you.

But before I get to that, let me tell you about the second bit of news, which is the one you've been waiting for: Cthulhu vs. Uncle Sam #2 is HERE! 😃

Yes, it just arrived a few minutes ago, and I didn't waste any time ripping open those boxes. Here's an unboxing video I made to show you all the comics!

I'm so stoked to finally get these comics in hand, and I can't wait to get them all out to you!

Here's the current plan for fulfillment. As you probably know, I'm a one man operation here, so I handle all the fulfillment myself, personally packing every comic and every box myself by hand and mailing them all out myself. This can take a while!

So my current plan is to try and get 5-10 packed each day and ship them as I go. The original fulfillment date was supposed to be March, but by sending out a few every day I think I can get everyone their rewards early. Barring anything unexpected -- like another round of COVID and pneumonia 😄 -- I hope to have everyone's rewards shipped out by the end of February!

I want to thank you all again for your amazing support, I appreciate it so much, and I really hope you enjoy the comic as much as I enjoyed making it! 🤗

Which brings me back to my other bit of news, because there's another comic I truly hope you will also enjoy: The Crimebusters #5

The Crimebusters is a supernatural mystery adventure series in the tradition of Scooby-Doo and the Three Investigators, which features the Golden Age hero Crimebuster and takes place in the same world as Cthulhu vs. Uncle Sam. In this issue, Crimebuster and his partner Trixie Trouble investigate the source of the eldritch horrors that have been plaguing their school. But they find more than they bargained for when Count Orloff and his Knights in Yellow (yep, those jerks again!) show up to summon their dread queen from Hastur: The Queen in Yellow!

The limited edition Kickstarter Exclusive Queen in Yellow variant cover!

The Crimebusters is my homage to everything I love about both teen detective mysteries and Golden Age comics, as it continues the continuity from Crimebuster's strip in the Golden Age series Boy Comics, picking up right where that title left off in 1956 with issue #119. In fact, every issue I also do a limited edition Boy Comics variant cover featuring the original title's logo and numbering. Here's this issue's cover, showcasing the return of Crimebuster's Golden Age sidekick Squeeks the Monkey!

Guess who's back? Squeeks is back!

While I strive very hard to make sure that each issue of Cthulhu vs. Uncle Same is a satisfying, stand alone, complete story, I am bringing in elements of the Cthulhu vs. Uncle Sam mythos into The Crimebusters to form a broader epic that will play out in the pages of that title. So if you enjoy Cthulhu vs. Uncle Sam, this is a perfect jumping on point, especially since the next issue, #6, is going to be a little story I like to call "Whatever Happened to Uncle Sam?" 👀

If this sounds like something you might enjoy, please consider checking out the new Kickstarter, where you can catch up on any previous issues you might have missed, and read a 6-page preview of the new issue. And if it's not your thing, that's fine too. This isn't a hard sell, but I do think and hope some of you might enjoy The Crimebusters, so I wanted to tell you all about it. 🙂

Thanks so much for all the continued support, and I can't wait to get these stories out to you -- and tell the next ones too!

The physical proof is here!
about 3 years ago – Mon, Jan 16, 2023 at 08:37:34 PM

Hello, fellow adventurers!

Just a quick update to let you know that the physical proof has arrived! And it looks really swell! 🤗

I made a short video so you can see it all for yourself:

I've already reviewed the proof and sent in a handful of minor corrections. The next step is that the printer will send me a new digital proof reflecting the changes. Assuming there aren't any issues with the digital proof, I will give the go-ahead to print it up!

I don't have a firm timeframe on any of that, but my hope 🤞 is that I'll have the digital proof reviewed by the end of the week, which will hopefully allow me to receive the printed comics during the first two weeks of February.

Of course, that's all hope right now, but once i have firm information I'll let you know right away. For now, though, it's all looking pretty great!

Thanks again for all the support and I'm really excited to get this finished comic out to you all!

What is... The Great Question?!

I also just wanted to mention again that my newest comic, The Crimebusters #5, is coming to Kickstarter on January 30!

Next time I have an update I hope to give you a sneak preview of the first six pages! For now, though, here's a look at one of the interior pages where the mystery really ratchets up -- I know some of you Golden Age fans will pick up on some clues here!

Check out the pre-launch page now to make sure you don't miss anything!

Adventure awaits!

Fulfillment Update!
over 3 years ago – Fri, Jan 06, 2023 at 03:17:47 AM

Hello, fellow adventurers!

I hope the new year finds you well! Sadly, my wife and I have finally both gotten the COVID, so it's a house of misery here at the moment. But one thing that has perked me up is a fulfillment update!

Firstly, I have just received the digital proof from the printer. Now, I always wait for the physical proof before giving the go-ahead on printing, because there are a lot of things you can only really get a feel for if you have the physical copy. But this is an important step! Usually the printer sends the physical proof shortly after the digital, so I'm hoping to get the physical proof within the next week or two. There was a delay last time, though, so who knows. But in a perfect world, I'll be able to share the physical proof unboxing with you within a couple weeks, and also give the final go-ahead for printing. 😁

And secondly, the trading cards are here! This means that all of the physical rewards are now in hand except the comic itself. I went with a different vendor this time, and the cards are slightly different than the previous cards I've gotten made -- these are glossy on both sides instead of just the front. I'll be curious to hear which you prefer! Here's a look:

Once I get the physical proof, I'll record an unboxing video so you can see the physical comic, and I'll provide an update at the time on the printing process.

In the meantime, I wanted to mention again that my next comic, The Crimebusters #5, is arriving on Kickstarter on January 30!

The story sees our team of fearless student sleuths uncovering a deeper mystery behind all the supernatural shenanigans going on -- a mystery that involves Count Orloff and his Knights in Yellow, who are determined to stop the Crimebusters at all costs from learning the truth!

Last time around I showed the regular cover as well as the Boy Comics #124 Legacy Variant cover. This time I wanted to highlight the Trixie's Mysteries cover! Ever issue I have a guest artist do a cover featuring our intrepid girl detective Trixie Trouble in an homage to the classic Nancy Drew book covers. This time around, the cover is by Lenm, and I can't say enough how much I love her cover! Check it out:

You can check out the pre-launch page for The Crimebusters #5 by clicking on this link right here. And if you don't want to miss any of these limited edition variant covers, you can click on the "Notify me on launch" button to make sure you don't miss out.

Thanks for all the support, everyone! Until next time, Adventure Awaits!

Ho Ho Ho! it's a Holiday Fulfillment Update!
over 3 years ago – Sun, Dec 25, 2022 at 09:07:52 PM

Hello, fellow adventurers! Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!

I wanted to give you a fulfillment update, because within the next couple of days I will be sending out digital rewards! I will be sending you messages via Kickstarter that include a link to a Google Drive folder where you can download all of your digital rewards, including, of course, the enhanced PDF edition of Cthulhu vs. Uncle Sam #2!

I also wanted to note that if you chose any add-ons that include digital rewards, I will be sending you a second, separate message via Kickstarter that includes the Google Drive links for those rewards. So if your initial message only has some rewards, don't worry, they will still be coming! 🙂

And I also have some exciting news for those of you who have ordered physical copies: the comic is at the printer! I sent in the order back on Tuesday, December 20. Now it's just a matter of waiting for the physical and digital proofs to arrive; I'm not sure how the holidays might affect those, but once I receive the physical proof I'll be back with another update as well as a video to show off the physical proof! 😁

Additionally, all other physical rewards all already here, with the exception of the trading cards; those are currently scheduled to be delivered this week. So once the comic is printed, I'll be able to ship everything out ASAP.

Thank you all again for your support, I really appreciate it very much and I hope you enjoy the comic!

And now that everything's done at my end that can be done for the time being, let's make the next comic while we're waiting!

The Crimebusters #5 is coming on January 30!

I'm excited to announce that The Crimebusters #5 will be coming to Kickstarter on January 30!

New artist Mac Radwanski takes over the art duties with this issue, which finds our group of intrepid student sleuths visiting the Met to uncover the secret source of all the supernatural events that have been happening over the first four issues. But they might discover a little more than they bargained for when Uncle Sam's nemesis Count Orloff and his sinister Knights in Yellow use black magic to bring the museum displays to life!

You can see all the action, plus the return of Squeeks, a cameo from Granny Gumshoe, and much more, in "Mayhem at the Museum!"

if you missed the first four issues, don't worry, all 5 will be available in both physical and digital catch-up bundles. And for Golden Age fans, there are still a few sets of the limited edition Boy Comics Legacy Variants available as well, which continue the title and numbering from the classic Golden Age comic series.

Here's a look at the Boy Comics #124 variant for the fifth issue, which features an homage to Gil Kane's classic cover from Rex the Wonder Dog #11!

See you all on January 30!
